Service Overview

Brian M. Curran is a provider of professional outsourced AutoCAD drafting services to AEC industry companies, homeowners and real estate professionals. He offers services to clients located in New York City and around the entire United States. To date Brian M. Curran has successfully provided computer aided drafting services on a variety of projects, which have ranged from creating CAD construction logistics drawings for the current World Trade Center reconstruction project, to creating CAD floor plan drawings for homeowners.

Service Niche

In describing his type of clientele and projects, Brian M. Curran said,

I specialize in providing AutoCAD drafting services to Architects, Contractors, Engineers, Homeowners, and Real Estate Professionals. The drawings that I provide to such clientele are: architectural survey drawings, as-built drawings, building elevation drawings, building survey drawings, floor plan drawings, rebar detailing drawings, steel detailing drawings, and structural engineering drawings. I as well do paper to cad conversions.

Service Value Proposition

As defined by Wikipedia, a value proposition is "an analysis and quantified review of the benefits, costs and value that an organization can deliver to customers and other constituent groups within and outside of the organization. It is also a positioning of value, where Value = Benefits - Cost (cost includes risk)." When asked to speak about his drafting service business in terms of its value to his clients, Brian M. Curran said,

If someone were to ask me what I do for a living I could answer in one of two ways. First, I could say that I'm a CAD Consultant. Or secondly I could say that I provide drafting services to different companies, which involves seeking to understand their CAD need, providing personal service, communicating transparently, and furnishing well thought-out quality deliverables. Answering the second way is an x-ray of my services, which highlights its skeleton of benefits.

Furthermore, I could flesh out my second answer with the following points:

  • My business is different from offshore businesses in that there is no potential for cultural disconnect with USA clients. Also, I'm assumedly geographically closer to United States of America based clients than offshore businesses are. (I say go local with your labor!!)
  • From big businesses with large hierarchical employee structures, my business is different in that I provide personal oversight over every project. This is because I wear the different hats of: business owner, project manager and CAD operator.
  • From businesses which have a technical staff who only have CAD backgrounds, my business is different in that I have both a CAD and an engineering background. I therefore have an extra perspective to offer over them.

In summary, I run a local AutoCAD drafting service business that creates quality drawings, and which can be entrusted with important projects.
