Shop Drawing Services

Are you a contractor who needs shop drawings? If yes, then I can help you.

What Are Shop Drawings?

The "Means Illustrated Construction Dictionary Third Edition Unabridged" says shop drawings are:

Drawings created by a contractor, subcontractor, vendor, manufacturer, or other entity that illustrate construction, dimensions, installation, materials, methods, and other pertinent information for the incorporation of an element or item into the construction.

The "AIA Document Commentary, A201-2007 General Conditions of the Contract for Construction" document states in section 3.12.1:

Shop Drawings are drawings, diagrams, schedules and other data specially prepared for the Work by the Contractor or a Subcontractor, Sub-subcontractor, manufacturer, supplier or distributor to illustrate some portion of the Work.

Lastly, Wikipedia cites "R Pietroforte (1997)(PDF), Construction Management & Economics, Taylor & Francis Retrieved 2007-02-23", which says:

A shop drawing is a drawing or set of drawings produced by the contractor, supplier, manufacturer, subcontractor, or fabricator.

How I Help Contractors

I regularly receive calls from contractors who ask me to create shop drawings for them, so they can complete their contractual requirements for closing out their jobs. I understand shop drawings, therefore I do this for them.

Different members of my team have different kinds of drafting experience. So we have the ability to create a variety of shop drawings, including: cabinet, concrete, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, HVAC, millwork, plumbing, sheet metal, stair, steel, and more.

If you have a need for shops from one of these disciplines, or some other discipline, then please contact me today.
